An investigation into the uncanny : character design, behaviour and context

characters were once common place. A look at early computer games from the late 1970's and early 1980's will contend to this. Such a character allows the viewer to almost see anything they like within the abstract design. While this type of character may have limitations to the scenarios that may be contained within. The contexts in which such a character might thrive could potentially generate a higher level of appeal than the other characters.
